Alberta mulls boosting U.S. border patrol in effort to prevent Trump’s 25% tariff

The province is mulling several options in an effort to show it is taking a harder stance against illegal items crossing the border, including more patrols, stricter policies or even drones, in an effort to quell Trump’s concerns about security.

“We have a strong mutual interest in solving this problem,” Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said. “It’s been pushed to the forefront because of tariffs, but it’s still an important issue that we need to solve.”
