Angela Merkel’s autobiography is published

Merkel, it says in the Publisher’s announcement , will look back on around 700 pages on 35 years spent in the GDR and the 35 in the Federal Republic. Apparently more personally than ever before, she talks about her childhood, youth and her studies in the GDR and the dramatic year 1989 in which the wall came down and her political life began. It will be about conversations with powerful international politicians, but also about turning points in times of crisis. According to the publisher’s promise, a “unique insight into the inner workings of power” will be shown.
