Hello Orwell: Jordan Peterson Told To Undergo Mandatory “Social-Media Communication Retraining” or Lose License…Just Because He Criticized Canadian P.M Justin Trudeau

The Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson may lose his license unless he undergoes mandatory “social-media communication retraining” by the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).

“BREAKING: the Ontario College of Psychologists @CPOntario
has demanded that I submit myself to mandatory social-media communication retraining with their experts for, among other crimes, retweeting [Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada] @PierrePoilievre and criticizing (Canadian Prime Minister) @JustinTrudeau and his political allies,” Peterson said on Twitter.

According to Peterson, “about a dozen people from all over the world” submitted complaints to the CPO, alleging his views and comments “harmed people.”

The complainants accused him “of harming people”. But Peterson pointed out that “none of the complainants involved in the current action were clients of mine, past or present, or were even acquainted with any of my clients”. He said they were “allowed by (College of Psychologists of Ontario) @CPOntario to have their complaints investigated despite this falsehood.”

The CPO has demanded Peterson to undergo the “retraining” and submit “progress” reports, or face an “in-person tribunal” and suspension of his license to operate as a clinical psychologist.

“I am to take a course of such training (with reports documenting my “progress” or face an in-person tribunal and suspension of my right to operate as a licensed clinical psychologist,” Peterson said.

The CPO confirmed on its website that it released a decision Nov. 22 requiring Peterson to complete a Specified Continuing Education or Remedial Program (SCERP), a coaching program designed to address concerns about an individual’s public conduct.

The college is obliged to investigate any written complaint filed against a member, which is why, according to Peterson, he has faced many investigations, many of which were due to anonymous calls. One complaint accused him of being “transphobic, sexist, and racist” for sharing an article from Crisis magazine that accused the transgender movement of targeting autistic children.

On 27 December, Peterson tweeted that Trudeau “appears to me to be perpetually 14 yrs old,” referring to the concept of “psychological age” in his field of expertise.

In another tweet in February, at the height of Canada’s trucker protest against vaccine mandates, Peterson called Trudeau a “Puppet”.

“We are now in a situation in Canada under @JustinTrudeau where practicing professionals can have their livelihoods and public reputations threatened in a very serious manner for agreeing with the Official Opposition and criticizing major government figures,” Peterson said.

The complaints received by the CPO against Peterson also include, among other things, his criticism against Trudeau’s former senior aide, Gerald Butts, calling him a “stunningly corrupt and incendiary fool” and a “prik”, a tweet for saying he opposed a plan by Ottawa police to take custody of the children of the Trucker Convoy protesters, and his statements on the Joe Rogan podcast calling the acceptance of radical gender theory to be a sign of “civilizations collapsing” and that climate change models are unreliable.

Recently, Peterson criticized the “totalitarian” lockdowns and vaccine mandates in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I was never investigated for anything for the 20 years I practiced prior to my emergence on the public scene,” said Peterson.
