New York Times: On Wednesday, a Hong Kong court convicted Kwok Yin-sang, her father, of a national security crime, in what rights groups have said is an escalation of the city’s campaign to silence activists living abroad by targeting their relatives at home. In her first interview about the case, Ms. Kwok denounced the authorities for going after her family to try to get to her.
“They really want this to be a source of pain for my family. I have to remind myself it is not my fault, it’s not my family’s fault,” she said. “The government is trying to destroy my values and the people I love.”…
