The new Trump normal? German held in U.S deportation centre without charge, allegedly pressured to give up U.S resident card

Fabian Schmidt, a German citizen with a green card, has lived in the United States for 17 years . After a visit to Germany, he was arrested at the Boston airport upon his return – without formal charges. Since then, he has been held in a federal prison in Rhode Island alongside convicted felons. The exact reasons for his detention remain unclear.
