“There Is No Place For Our Country In The West”: Head of Russian Security Council Nicolai Patrushev Talks About Russia, Ukraine and Who Really Rules The West

Nikolai Patrushev, head of Russia’s Security Council, gives a sharp interview to AIF in which he explains what is happening in Ukraine, where real power lies in the West, and why the West rejects Russia. There is plenty to ponder, even though caveats apply.

Patrushev begins with an uncommon statement. The Head of Russia’s Security Council says the world is in crisis, but it’s also a spiritual crisis. This is remarkable coming from the top brass of a country that is systematically portrayed as having no morals whatsoever. But not only that. Throughout the interview, Patrushev suggests Russia has its own civilizational way of thinking about security, which is just as much about the military and economic aspects as the spiritual aspect. According to him, Russia “defends a reasonable balance between spiritual and moral values and socio-economic development” and that is why transnational corporations that “strive for enrichment and the development of a consumer society” are “nervous” about Russia.

Patrushev says western politicians are powerless and have no ability to effect meaningful change for their people because they are not “independent figures” but beholden to “big business, lobbyists and foundations” who fund their election campaigns and maintain them in office. Referring to the “structures of George Soros” that control European Members of Parliament and the corruption between the EU commission and the pharmaceutical companies that led to “series of corrupt schemes for the purchase of vaccines for tens of billions of euros”, the head of Russia’s Security Council says “It is evident that real power in the West lies in the hands of resourceful clans and multinationals.”

According to the former intelligence officer, even the US government cannot set independent policies that serve the interests of their citizens because “the American state is just the shell for a conglomerate of giant corporations that rule the country and seek to dominate the world.” He says the Republicans and the Democrats serve as interchangeable front-men for transnational corporations who pay them to do politics that further their business interests first. “It is no coincidence that a growing number of Americans are declaring that Republicans and Democrats are just two actors in the same play that has nothing to do with democracy,” he said.

Patrushev also spoke about the military-industrial complex and how corporate influence is responsible for the “aggressive foreign policy of the White House, the unbridled aggressiveness of NATO, the emergence of the military bloc AUKUS and others”. He calls the draft US budget for 2023 “the best evidence of Washington’s plans to unleash new wars to the detriment of its own citizens.”, pointing out that “Half of the US government’s planned $1.7 trillion in spending is on defense — more than $850 billion. Just to continue fighting in Ukraine and prolong the conflict, $45 billion will be allocated.” This is despite the fact that America is in a monumental debt crisis. But that does not matter, because he says “Only the countries that think they are the masters of the world have no intention of repaying this debt.”

According to Patrushev, the West rejects Russia because “it is rich in natural resources and has vast territory and intelligent and independent people.” Because of Russia’s distinct identity and worldview, “There is no place for our country in the West.”

The subject of the war in Ukraine comes up inevitably in the interview. When asked that “Russia is accused of seizing Ukrainian territory and attacking Ukrainian infrastructure”, Patrushev answers in the unexpected. He says Russia is not at war with Ukraine “because by definition we cannot hate ordinary Ukrainians. Ukrainian traditions are close to the people of Russia, just as the heritage of the Russian people is inseparable from Ukrainian culture.”

According to the Head of Russia’s Security Council, the war in Ukraine is “not a clash between Moscow and Kyiv, but a military confrontation between NATO and, above all, the USA and Great Britain with Russia.” Direct contact, he says, would be catastrophic, so NATO is using Ukraine for the cause. Citing US Secretary of State Blinken on how Washington was able to allocate so much money to Ukraine, he says the reason why the U.S withdrew suddenly from Afghanistan is because they wanted to focus on the war they were planning in Ukraine.

Patrushev suggests Russia is hurt, but it cannot be destroyed. And that is because of “The invincible strength of Russia”, which “lies in our hard-working people, whose advantage lies, among other things, in their different points of view, in their multi-ethnicity and multi-confessionalism.”

Russia is unique but certainly not anti-western. For Patrushev, “It is important to understand that we have a unique and distinctive culture, that Russia is not Europe or Asia, much less “anti- Western”, and “This is where we differ fundamentally.” He talks about hate, and that “For a Russian, hate, by definition, cannot be a unifying element.” He anticipates new military threats, and says his country must be prepared, so that “Russia’s opponents would not even have the thought that they could fight with us.”

TCE has translated the interview in full here:

What actions of the West are preparing in Moscow and what policy can be opposed to this?, asked Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

Vitaly Tseplyaev, Nikolai Platonovich, how do you assess the situation in the world that has developed by the beginning of the new year?

Nikolai Patrushev: The situation in the world is extremely complex and has a turbulent character. Many countries in different regions are simultaneously in a military-political, economic, social and spiritual crisis. Let’s hope there will be positive changes this year.

You once said that the leadership of Western countries is not doing anything to improve the situation, not only in the world, but even in their own countries. Explain what is at stake?

Western politicians do not have the strength and ability to change life in their states for the better, since they have not been independent figures for a long time. Everyone has connections

with big business, lobbyists, and foundations behind their backs. They do not even hide these facts. There are very recent examples. As it turned out, dozens of MEPs were controlled by the structures of George Soros, and the European Commission, at the behest of one of the world’s largest American pharmaceutical companies, created a number of corruption schemes for the purchase of vaccines worth tens of billions of euros. It is clear that the real power in the West is in the hands of resourceful clans and transnational corporations.

Do you mean Rockefellers and Rothschilds?

In fact, there are many more such corporations and clans. Thus, the total income of the 500 largest companies in the world, according to unofficial data, reached almost $38 trillion in 2021. The main share of transnational companies is accounted for by corporations headquartered in the United States. Their revenues brought in about $16 trillion with a net profit of $1.8 trillion.

The capital of a number of transnational companies exceeds the GDP of most of the world’s economies, and the funds created by them for further enrichment claim to be a supranational mechanism for managing humanity. The same Soros Foundation became almost the main world center for planning and implementing “color revolutions”.

Two actors in one play

Do you want to say that even the US authorities are not pursuing an independent policy?

In fact, the American state is just a shell for a conglomerate of huge corporations that rule the country and try to dominate the world. For TNCs, even US presidents are just extras who can be shut up, like Trump . All four assassinations of American leaders are connected to the corporate trail. It is no coincidence that a growing number of Americans are saying that Republicans and Democrats are just two actors in one play that has nothing to do with democracy.

The American authorities, merged with big business, serve the interests of transnational corporations, including the military-industrial complex. The assertive foreign policy of the White House, the unbridled aggressiveness of NATO, the emergence of the military bloc AUKUS and others are also a consequence of corporate influence. The draft American budget for 2023 is the best evidence of Washington’s plans to unleash new wars to the detriment of the well-being of its own citizens. Of the $1.7 trillion planned federal government spending, half is earmarked for defense—more than $850 billion. Only for the continuation of hostilities in Ukraine and the prolongation of the conflict, it is planned to allocate 45 billion rubles.

This is despite the fact that the United States itself and its henchmen are irretrievably sliding into a debt hole. The American public debt has reached more than thirty-one trillion dollars. England’s £2.4 trillion debt is the highest it has been since World War II, exceeding 101% of gross domestic product. The world record for the ratio of debt to GDP – more than 2.6 times – was set by Japan with a public debt of almost ten trillion dollars. Only the countries that consider themselves masters of the world are not going to return these debts.

Previously, the West came to prosperity and achieved world domination through colonial conquests. This is exactly how transnational companies behave today, preferring to increase their capital by pumping resources from other countries. At the same time, they use their system of brainwashing the masses in order to impose on the population of the planet in every possible way the idea of certain rules that they themselves came up with and that do not comply with international law.

Global operation

That is, do you really think that when operating in various countries of the world, TNCs seriously influence local political and socio-economic processes?

Right. On the one hand, they introduce new technologies through foreign direct investment and increase labor productivity. Only the population cannot take advantage of these results, since companies permanently crowd out the local producer, becoming monopolists. By exporting the bulk of profits abroad, they deprive countries of the opportunity to increase their national well-being.

To solve this problem, national legal regulation is not enough. The current international legal regulation of the economic activities of TNCs is formed in the interests of the corporations themselves and with their direct participation. Its change in favor of the national interests of countries is being torpedoed.
In the conditions of cardinal changes in the world, the goal of corporations is to preserve the system of global exploitation. It is headed by an elite of businessmen who do not associate themselves with any state. Below it are the so-called developed countries of the world, as well as the “golden billion”. And then – the rest of humanity, contemptuously referred to as the “third world”.

By this logic, apparently, Russia in this hierarchy is not the most enviable place.

There is no place for our country in the West. Russia annoys a bunch of world rulers because it has rich resources, a vast territory, smart and self-sufficient people who love their country, its traditions and history.

Transnational corporations are unnerved by the worldview and ideological divergence between Russia and countries controlled by Western capital. Corporations are aimed at enrichment and development of the consumer society. Russia, on the other hand, upholds a reasonable balance of spiritual and moral values and socio-economic development.

In this regard, the Westerners seek to weaken our country, to dismember it, to destroy the Russian language and the Russian world. They have long worked out the technology of undermining their rivals from the inside and their fragmentation into small states. This was how they acted before, when, for example, London, following the results of the First World War, collapsed empires and stamped dozens of countries out of them. This is how they operate today. A good example is Yugoslavia. Having an independent voice in the international arena, the state is divided into six.

What do the events in Ukraine mean?

At the end of December, the 100th anniversary of the formation of the USSR was celebrated. In your opinion, how did the collapse of the Union in 1991 affect the policy of the United States and its allies?

He covered them. 15 new subjects of international law emerged in the space of the former Union. Of course, none of them can be compared with the USSR in terms of its level of influence, with the exception of the Russian Federation, which, having retained the international authority deserved for centuries, is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, plays a crucial role in the world, defending national interests. Therefore, in the plans of the Westerners, it remains to continue to pull Russia apart, and in the end, simply erase it from the political map of the world. Today they still shout publicly that Russia should not remain united, it should be driven into the framework of Muscovy of the 15th century. To do this, they do not disdain anything, including inventing a completely false history of our country, shifting on it their responsibility for the oppression of other peoples, which Russia has never done.

The whole story with Ukraine was started in Washington for this purpose, in order to work out the technologies for delimiting and playing off a single people. Millions of people are forbidden to speak Russian, their native language since birth, they are forced to forget their origins. The West, for the sake of its ambitions, is practically destroying the Ukrainian people, forcing the active generation to die on the battlefield and bringing the rest of the population to poverty.

The events in Ukraine are not a clash between Moscow and Kyiv, this is a military confrontation between NATO, and above all the United States and England, with Russia. Fearing direct contact, NATO instructors are driving Ukrainian guys to certain death. With the help of a special military operation, Russia is liberating its regions from occupation and must put an end to the bloody experiment of the West to destroy the fraternal Ukrainian people.

But in the world, on the contrary, Russia is accused of seizing the territory of Ukraine, attacks on its infrastructure…

“We are not at war with Ukraine, because, by definition, we cannot have hatred towards ordinary Ukrainians. Ukrainian traditions are close to the inhabitants of Russia, just as the heritage of the Russian people is inseparable from the culture of Ukrainians. Please note that in Crimea the Ukrainian language is preserved as one of the state languages. Ukrainian cultural centers, Ukrainian song and dance ensembles continue to operate in many cities. In the south of the Far East, given the large proportion of immigrants since the time of Stolypin, a significant number of residents consider the native culture of the Ukrainian people.

And the sooner the citizens of Ukraine realize that the West is fighting against Russia with their hands, the more lives will be saved. Many have long realized this, but are afraid to say so, fearing reprisals. The West does not plan to save anyone’s life at the expense of its enrichment and other ambitions. At the same time, Americans, British and other Europeans often create the illusion that they are protecting civilization from barbarism.

Are you hinting at the events in Afghanistan, where the United States declared the fight against terrorism, and then rather ingloriously left?

Not only in Afghanistan, but also in other regions. They themselves created terrorist organizations such as Al-Qaeda, the Taliban Movement or ISIS * to achieve their goals , and fought against them themselves. Arranging a demonstration liquidation of terrorist leaders, like Osama bin Laden , a hundred new ones were trained and armed.

The US presence in Afghanistan turned out not to be the fight against terrorism, but the creation of multimillion-dollar corruption schemes and a manifold increase in drug production. The sudden departure of the Americans from this country, as it turned out, was largely due to the fact that they were concentrating on Ukraine, where, according to them, the preparation of the Kyiv puppet regime for offensive anti-Russian actions was going well. By the way, this was also confirmed by US Secretary of State Blinken , who said that if the US military had not left Afghanistan, Washington would not have been able to allocate so much money to Ukraine. In addition, part of the equipment exported from Afghan soil was transferred to Europe, mainly to Poland, allowing the Europeans to carry out the militarization of the Kyiv regime.

On February 24 last year, Russia called the goals of the NMD just “demilitarization” and “denazification” of Ukraine. Are you still confident that these goals will be achieved?

Neo-Nazi criminals who have been rampaging in Ukraine in recent years will inevitably be punished. However, it is possible that their curators will try to save the most odious ones for the purpose of using them in other countries, including for organizing coups d’état and performing sabotage tasks.

Such a scheme was worked out during the defeat of Nazi Germany. After 1945, the Americans, the British and the West German authorities controlled by them reported on the denazification of their zone of occupation of Germany, while the Nazis saved from punishment were used to create the armed forces of the FRG, as well as the agent network of American and British intelligence services, including for covert operations against the countries of the socialist camps.

The CIA, which until 1948 was called the US Strategic Services Directorate, actively used former employees of the Abwehr and the Nazi Reich Imperial Security Directorate to create new German intelligence services.
In the postwar years, the Americans actively involved Nazi criminals in the development of new types of weapons, including weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery. The same applies to the use by the Americans and Japanese war criminals who developed and used chemical and bacteriological weapons.

“Humanity’s potential is far from exhausted”

Let’s return to the topic of the influence of transnational corporations on the politics of different countries. You claim that it is practically limitless. And what methods do you think TNCs have in their arsenal?

“These methods are the most cynical. Some of them are experiments with dangerous pathogens and viruses in military biological laboratories supervised by the Pentagon. Unceremoniously engaged in the moral and moral decay of society. The West has mastered the zombification of people with the help of mass propaganda, and now it seeks to use cognitive weapons, influencing each person pointwise with the help of information technologies and neuropsychological methods. Promotes neoliberal and other values, some of which are inherently directly opposed to human nature. They act consciously and in their circle do not hide the fact that the LGBT agenda is a tool for gradually reducing the number of “extra people” who do not fit into the framework of the notorious “golden billion”. Yesterday they advertised GMOs without caring about the health consequences of such products, and today they are urging women not to have children in order to fight climate change. Overseas science proposes to evaluate people by the amount of carbon they leave behind. Humanity is measured and counted in the same way that Nazi scientists once measured skulls in search of criteria for dividing “higher” and “lower races.”

You are painting a rather bleak picture. As if the end of humanity is not far off…

“Humanity’s potential is far from being exhausted. There are structures that are designed to influence this situation in a positive way. This is the UN and the UN Security Council. Such associations as the SCO, BRICS, ASEAN and others are becoming increasingly popular. However, the West is not interested in the effectiveness of their work. The Anglo-Saxons are obsessively trying to push the world community to the idea that these institutions have generally outlived their usefulness, but we must live by the rules they invented. Those who

disagree with their hegemony are labeled “rogue states”, “terrorist countries”, or states that pose a threat to national security. At the same time, Western countries do not notice that they themselves are gradually remaining in the minority, since the world is already tired of the strategy of force and threats they use.

Power is in people

How is the leadership of Russia going to build its strategy taking into account the above problems?

“Our country is on the path to creating a strong, modern, independent economy in order to achieve economic sovereignty. Russia has all the resources for this. We need a culture of their use, a careful and prudent attitude to our treasures – not only natural, but also intangible. Russian business must be nationally oriented. Private capital, as well as the authorities, should think about the long-term development of the country.

Financial independence is important for Russia, as well as technological sovereignty. We have plenty of our Lomonosovs and Kulibins. The problem is to notice them in time. It is necessary not only to develop science and education, but to revive the real cult of the scientist, engineer, worker. The younger generation should be inspired by the ideas of creative work for the benefit of our Motherland, and not sit in the offices of Western corporations.

The invincible strength of Russia is in our hardworking people, whose advantage lies, among other things, in different outlooks on life, in their multinationality and multi-confessionalism. It is important to understand that we have a unique and original culture, that Russia is not Europe, not Asia, and even more so not “anti-West”. This, by the way, is our fundamental difference. For a Russian person, hatred, by definition, cannot be a unifying principle. Only Westerners are full of hatred, who openly call us opponents. But they need to be reminded of their unsuccessful military operations in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and other countries … But in the face of the emergence of new military threats, it is important for us to have such armed forces and special services so that Russia’s opponents would not even have the thought that they could fight with us.
