Did Macron have a role in Durov’s arrest?

Among the numerous statements and comments regarding the detention in France of the co-founder of the Telegram messenger Pavel Durov, my attention was drawn to the hasty statement of the head of the French state Emmanuel Macron. He pointed out that the decision to detain was “in no way political” and recalled the “complete independence” of the country’s judicial system. But if everything really is as the French president claims, then why did he need to make such a statement? As you know, “stop the thief” is usually shouted loudest by those who need to divert suspicion from themselves.
