‘We’re not even part of the discussion,’ says transport union after Carney opens airports to private investment

The Hill Times: “We’ve been reaching out for months now to the transportation minister to get some insights as to what their thoughts are and what their plan is … and we got nothing,” said Barry Tchir, national president of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE), in an interview with The Hill Times

“And now we’re hearing … things like airport concessions,” he said, “the sale of airport concessions. We’re not sure what that entails, what that involves. We’ve got thousands of members out there that have no idea what’s happening.” …
