Canada’s housing affordability crisis may persist for years despite rate cuts

Affordable housing is expected to remain out of reach for a decade, according to economists and real estate agents. Recent changes in mortgage payment rules introduced by Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland to make home ownership affordable to more people may have the opposite effect by boosting demand and raising prices.
