German President Steinmeier calls for comprehensive review of COVID measures to regain ‘trust’ and ‘protect democracy

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has called for a comprehensive review of the coronavirus pandemic . He believes it is essential “to establish transparency so that we can win back as many people as possible who doubted democracy and institutions during the pandemic,” Steinmeier said at a discussion event on lessons learned from the pandemic . “Reviewing the past is also an opportunity to regain trust.”
