Dave Sawyer, a principal economist and the head of 440 Megatonnes with the Canadian Climate Institute, testified at the committee on Oct. 6. He told The Hill Times progress to reaching the 2030 target is “off path” from a year and a half ago as a result of federal moves to weaken and remove climate policies. Sawyer said he’s waiting for the government’s climate competitiveness strategy to reveal the feds’ approach.
