Russia: New Trump security strategy”largely consistent” with Moscow’s vision

BBC: The 33-page document, unveiled by the US administration this week, suggests Europe is facing “civilisational erasure” and does not cast Russia as a threat to the US.

“The adjustments we’re seeing… are largely consistent with our vision,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said in an interview published by Russia’s state news agency Tass on Sunday.

“We consider this a positive step,” he said, adding that Moscow would continue to analyse the document before drawing strong conclusions…

The Guardian: It (Trump’s National Security Strategy) came as the White House’s efforts to push through a peace deal in Ukraine enter a key phase. US officials claim they are in the final stage of reaching an agreement, but there is little sign that either Ukraine or Russia is willing to sign the framework deal drawn up by Trump’s negotiating team…

Politico: In an interview, Peskov said Trump’s administration differs fundamentally from previous U.S. governments and that the president is able to change the country’s foreign policy orientation because he is “strong”…
