Trump holding off on permanent DOJ pick as Blanche takes reins

Bloomberg: President Donald Trump is in no hurry to tap a permanent attorney general to replace Pam Bondi, allowing Todd Blanche time to settle into his role as the US Justice Department’s acting chief.

Trump had initially discussed selecting Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin as a permanent replacement, but has ceased discussions with other contenders for now.

The White House has yet to pursue conversations about whether Blanche could eventually be a permanent replacement or if he could survive a Senate confirmation hearing…
