Why Canada isn’t listening to American whining in wine wars

We responded to the first US imposition of tariffs on our steel and aluminium with dollar-for-dollar retaliation, co-ordinated with the EU and Mexico. The next 11 months were painful, and included Trump calling me a nasty woman and telling the world that he didn’t like Canada’s negotiator very much. But we held firm, and less than a year later the tariffs were lifted.
