PQ will make life difficult for Canada

Andrew Caddell/The Hill Times: In the coming years as premier, St-Pierre Plamondon will likely blame every Quebec problem on Ottawa. To start, he has promised to name the minister in charge of Canadian relations the “Minister for Independence,” who will be loath to co-operate with his federal counterparts. He says he will eliminate the office of lieutenant-governor, cut ties with the monarchy, and make public the sealed documentation of the 2007 Grenier report of alleged wrongdoing by Ottawa in the 1995 referendum. Although changing the role of the Crown and lieutenant-governor is unconstitutional, and the Grenier report cleared federal and provincial politicians, St-Pierre Plamondon is determined to proceed…
