‘The suspicion is plausible’: German authorities to examine whether Russia had to do with the attacks before the Bundestag election

Six serious acts of violence within a few months. It was always the AfD that exploited the attacks politically. And in the federal election on February 23, it doubled its result to 20 percent and is now the strongest opposition in parliament. Shortly after the election,
a German man carried out a car attack in Mannheim, leaving two dead. Since then, the series of attacks has ended, for the time being.

But now questions are growing louder: Is this cluster of attacks surrounding the election really a coincidence? Or is there more to it? Perhaps even Russia, which security authorities have long accused of instigating a hybrid war in Europe?
