Toronto paramedic, wrongly accused of drug smuggling, now photographs her luggage before every flight

CTV: A W5 investigation uncovered at least 17 cases over the past year in which innocent passengers traveling to or from Canadian airports had their baggage tags switched onto suitcases filled with drugs, sometimes leading to detention in foreign countries.

Former RCMP organized crime investigator Ulisses Botelho says insider corruption is central to how criminal organizations move narcotics through airports.

“Mission critical,” Botelho said. “Without it, it doesn’t exist.”…
